The role:
This is a truly exciting opportunity for a People professional looking for a fast-paced role where you will have a full-range of responsibilities and development opportunities.
The role forms a key part of our ambitious People team and will support our Head of People to deliver on our people agenda.
You will be expected to provide proactive, effective people advice and solutions, make improvements to our people practices and embed a positive culture. You will take ownership of the delivery of all aspects of people activities, providing strong guidance and advice on the full range of people related services and initiatives and creating a positive employee experience.
Based in our London and/or Wimbledon offices, the role will have the opportunity to proactively engage directly with our management and wider teams.
We are looking for someone with a positive and proactive nature, ready to contribute and make a mark, whilst having the opportunity to develop their career and gain some invaluable experience where no one day is the same.
Responsibilities:
- Be the first point of contact for all day-to-day people related queries across the business, providing high-quality advice and support in a timely manner, including compliance with UK employment legislation and best practice.
- Manage and resolve employee relations issues associated with any change and create an effective and positive employee relations climate.
- Advise and coach managers on the practical implications of managing people, driving performance management and talent development to ensure the delivery of effective performance and career conversations, whilst balancing commercial needs and wellbeing.
- Manage the content, review and production of contracts of employment and policies and guidance to ensure they comply with legislation and best practice, recommending improvements where needed.
- Coordinate the process and embed a positive employee experience, ensuring an effective integration across all areas of the employee journey.
- Contribute to wider people initiatives and projects that enhance employee engagement and creates a positive and inclusive culture. Including driving key engagement surveys and supporting the development and implementation of appropriate actions plans in collaboration with Head of People and Leadership team.
- Where necessary, partner with hiring managers and the wider people team to effectively manage the overall recruitment experience and the direct appointment of candidates to meet business needs.
- Manage the reward and recognition programme whilst supporting the implementation of annual pay and benefit reviews and assessments of staff salaries, bonuses and benefits, carrying out research as appropriate to assess market position and make recommendations.
- Manage the monthly payroll in collaboration with the finance team and payroll Bureau to ensure the correct data payments are made accurately and on time.
- Embed a culture of continuous development through identifying training opportunities and coordinating and implementing training programmes to foster employee growth and support high performance.
- Prepare key analytical reports (e.g. turnover, engagement and performance trends etc) and identify insights and recommendations to continuously improve the way we work to support a strong performance culture and deliver against our people agenda.
About you:
- 5 years + experience in a Senior HR Adviser / People Partnering role - or suitable for someone with an employment law background looking to transfer their skills.
- Ideally possess a CIPD qualification (level 5 or above), university degree or equivalent experience or employment law experience.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability balance business needs with employee well-being in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and thrive in a hands-on role where you can influence and build meaningful relationships at all levels
- Has a curious approach to better understand issues and offer the most effective advice and solutions.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering impactful results.
- Have experience delivering people focused initiatives to create a positive and inclusive culture.
- Thorough understanding of People policies and best practice, current UK employment legislation and have confidence to guide managers on performance management and development paths.
- Well-versed in gathering and using data to drive decisions and improve processes.
- Have a proactive hands-on approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects and problem solve.
