About Us:
We are no ordinary engineers. We are activists for a new kind of engineering profession, where technical prowess with creative ingenuity is seamlessly integrated and in which our craft is re-evaluated by both clients and collaborators.
We are a leading civil and structural engineering consultancy, we embrace progressive ideals, undertaking complex projects with a commitment to environmental stewardship. The Role:
We’re looking for talented and mission-driven Sustainability Consultants to join our London team. We have two opportunities available - one for someone at the early stages of their career (0–1.5 years’ experience) and one for someone with 2+ years’ experience.
You’ll work across a range of UK built environment projects, helping clients and multidisciplinary design teams embed sustainability from the outset. Your work will span BREEAM, sustainable design, embodied carbon, energy performance, circular economy and planning requirements, with opportunities to develop your technical and consultancy skills and take increasing ownership of projects.
Essential Experience:
For both roles, we’re looking for someone who is:
Passionate about sustainability and creating a better built environment.
A strong communicator, both written and verbal.
Organised, proactive and able to manage priorities.
Collaborative, with a positive and approachable attitude.
Curious and motivated to learn and develop.
For the 0–1.5 years’ experience role, you’ll ideally have some relevant academic, project or practical experience in sustainability or the built environment. You don’t need to have all the technical experience — we’re looking for someone with the right mindset and enthusiasm to build their career with us.
For the 2+ years’ experience role, you’ll also have:
Experience working within a UK built environment consultancy.
Experience delivering BREEAM assessments across a range of building typologies.
Knowledge of London planning policies.
Practical experience or knowledge of embodied carbon and life-cycle assessment (LCA).
An understanding of circular design principles.
Responsibilities:
Depending on your experience, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Support and deliver BREEAM assessments and wider sustainability services from concept through to post-construction.
Advise clients and multidisciplinary design teams on sustainable design strategies and opportunities.
Support the preparation of sustainability, energy and planning statements.
Contribute to embodied carbon, LCA and circular economy assessments.
Attend client and design team meetings and communicate sustainability advice clearly and confidently.
Manage project tasks, deliverables and deadlines, with increasing responsibility as your experience develops.
Produce clear reports, presentations and technical information.
Share knowledge across the team and continue developing your technical and consultancy skills.
